Do you really know Jesus, or have you just been familiar with Him? When life gets hard—and it will—it’s easy to let fear or disappointment cloud our view of who He really is. But Jesus isn’t committed to making our lives comfortable; He’s committed to growing our faith. In this moment with His disciples, walking on water in the middle of a storm, Jesus reveals Himself as the One who has power over it all. He comes close, encourages them, and reminds them, “Take heart, it is I.” Jesus is still doing that for us. He’s interceding for us, He sees our struggles, and He comes near. The question is—are we growing in our understanding of who He really is? Because when we see Jesus for who He truly is, we can face any storm with courage and trust.
