The Gospel of Mark: The Orbit of The Trinity - Chris Nagel

Jun 23, 2024    Chris Nagel

Who is God? What is He like? This week Chris Nagel continued our sermon series through the gospel of Mark, and we looked at Jesus’ baptism and His temptation by Satan. Many people want a relationship with Jesus, but they want it on their own terms. They want Jesus to orbit them and their life. But in this short passage we get a stunning revelation of who Jesus is. Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and the second person of the trinity. Jesus has a reality and a gravity all to His own, and He is pulling us into His orbit. For all eternity God has existed as three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - who all relate to each other in self-giving, others glorifying love. Jesus invites us into this dance, this orbit of the trinity - to stop making everything orbit around us, and to experience the true meaning of life as we orbit the triune God.
