Isn't Christianity's View on Sex Outdated? - Questioning Christianity - Brian Barr
In a cultural moment that encourages sexual freedom, many would say that Christianity’s view of sexuality is oppressive. Should sex really be limited to within the confines of a marriage between a husband and a wife? This week, Brian Barr continued in our Questioning Christianity series looking at the Biblical view of sexuality. The Bible is not anti-sex, but when it’s used outside of God’s design, it brings harm and lasting consequences. Our culture promotes casual hook-ups, pornography, and cohabitation, but there are massive problems with this sexual ethic that leads to selfishness and using others for one’s own satisfaction. As followers of Jesus, we are called to lay our own lives down for others and to live for their benefit. This can only be done when we submit ourselves whole heartedly to God and surrender to living our lives according to His ways - even in our sexuality.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
