Acts: A Return to the Authentic - Making Much of Jesus - Brian Barr
What should be the main focus of the church? How can we tell if we are drifting from the true purpose Jesus has in mind for His church? Rather than looking to our experience or our preferences, we must look to God’s Word. This week Brian Barr continued our sermon series in Acts looking at the first sermon ever preached in the church - Peter’s sermon on the Day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit had just been poured out on the disciples, so it would seem obvious for Peter to preach a sermon about the Holy Spirit. But instead Peter preaches all about Jesus! His message teaches us that making much of Jesus and calling people to salvation in His name must be the main point. All of the activity of the Holy Spirit is for one purpose - to shine a bright and beautiful spotlight on the person and work of Jesus!
Acts 2:14-41
